Some history

The high Neapolitan tailoring takes shape when Naples is at the height of splendour: capital of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and an important socio-economic center.

At the end of the fifteenth century, small wool and silk industries flourished, offering their products in all European courts. The Neapolitan sartorial school developed in these years, in which many master tailors were called to work for the Aragonese Court.

Their success was incredible, so much so that they were called in all the courts of the Kingdom. Their fame was more than considerable; in fact, it is not surprising that inside the Church of Sant 'Eligio al Mercato in Naples, where the Confraternity of the Sartori was born in 1351, there were portraits of two historic Neapolitan tailors: Angelo Sicignano and Romano di Stefano.

The clothes, especially those of masculine tailoring, are true works of art, which in themselves conceal the secrets and history of the city of Naples. A sartorial tradition made of elegance and taste, where even the smallest detail is sewn with skill and attention.
